Pretty much a generic thread, Now the New Opera is great, better than all the rest in the past, but no one says what's better about it, is it fixed and has all the user configurable options ? It has full bookmark functionality ? Options to remove the speed dial ? Set any search engine you like as default ? I saw no changelog for it, so what's better about it ? Also full google theme, compatibility would be nice.

RE: homepage and neat icons near address barOpera for Windows
It's a very stripped down browser with hardly any options, you could probably put a link to it on the bookmarks bar then rename it "Home". In the newer versons of Opera "Home" is considered the speed dial page.

RE: Can I open new tabs in the foreground instead of in the background?Opera for Windows
What the point of opening a link or a new tab if it doesn't open in the foreground and you need to look for an extension for something the browser should do already, yes, that was very annoying when I was using Opera, the browser i use now does it all, but I keep checking back in the forums for news that Opera finally gets it right, but I wont hold my breath waiting for that to happen

RE: Can`t customize and peronalize Opera browser version 25Opera for Windows
All Chromium-based browsers are well-known for poor customizability.
Anyway, customization of the browser UI is just "too geeky" for an average user. No, not all Chromium based browsers lack customization abilities, I've mentioned the best one for that recently BUT, Opera is for the average user such as your grandmother or someone. Operas customization abilities is probably the least out of all the Chromium based browsers definetley not for geeks. The new Opera was created with simplicity in mind and is it's main trait, since you cant change much in it, the average user such as your grandmother can't screw anything up

RE: Changing default search engine on Opera 20Opera for Windows
You have to remember that the New Opera wasn't designed for techie types or power users, it was made for the average computer user like your grandmother for instance that knows nothing about security and might muck something up if they changed any settings, Opera needs to follow the example of Slimjet which is another Chromium based browser that lets you change all those settings to your liking, You can please Grandma, but you can't please everybody

RE: Videos always bufferingOpera for Windows
Like Lem says, What other browsers have you tried ? Do the videos buffer in other browsers ? For purposes of comparison, it would be helpful to know if this problem occurs in other browsers, that would narrow it down, I doubt it's a problem specific to opera though, possibly internet speeds like Lem says. I have to add though, the last time I used Opera, I had no problem with Youtube videos.

Maybe this is the Answer, what Opera needed to be http://www.slimjet.com/en/

RE: address bar + bookmarks + transparent backgroundOpera for Windows
"Yet" is pretty much unfounded speculation, Opera's lack of features is reflective of what America has become, a dumbed down society and that's who Opera targets as thier main users, You want configurablity and options, forget it. Fortunately for me, I'm happy with the browser I chose, and If Opera gets thier act together I wont rule out giving it a try again.

RE: Is opera browser latest version better than Google Chrome or Safari?Opera for Windows
I'm wondering because I use Google chrome I don't use my internet browser no more because its so slow but I want to know which is best Opera browser, Safari or Google Chrome?
The best browser is the one you think is best, there's a multitude of browsers all free to download and try out, not everyone agrees on which is best, You download them, and there is LOTS of them, try them out and decide which is best, no one can do that for you, Good Luck

RE: Opera browser currept after computer restartOpera for Windows
That sounds more like your system and not Opera, Is your system clean and free of viruses ? A harddrive in the beginning stages of on the way out can cause corruption, and remember, from windows Vista all the way up to the current version you have to right click on the install file and install as administrator, also any problems with any of the other programs on your computer ?

RE: Online radioOpera for Windows
Doooooooooooooode!
You touched my nerve.
First, this forum is about Opera for Windows.
Do you listen to your radio in browser? In Opera? Or did you just download a stream file for that station in Opera?
Are you on Windows?
Yes and yes? Or what?
Do other streams work in Opera?
Or what's your real problem?..Talk about RUDE, by the way that site streams perfectly using the Chromium based Slimjet, I can't really test it using Opera though.
