@burnout426 Thanks for the lengthy suggestion. I just recently started making use of syncing, but I had experienced weirdness with folders in speed dial long before that. I'll give your bookmark file cleansing method a try.

RE: Can't add speed dials to folder.Opera for Windows
@leocg Thanks, but it doesn't surprise me that someone who wasn't having the problem, still doesn't have the problem. I was hoping there would be someone who could say "Oh yeah! I had that happen once. It was..."
As I said, I'll just have to try some more stuff, like creating a new profile and adding features back one at a time.

RE: Can't add speed dials to folder.Opera for Windows
@leocg Followup: Disabled all the extensions, turned off anti-virus, downloaded the latest, latest version (79.0.4143.56 -> 79.0.4143.66) and restarted. Adding to a folder worked once, then nothing. I'll just have to run through some of the other suggestions. Thanks...

RE: Can't add speed dials to folder.Opera for Windows
@leocg It's in "no new folder" and "no adding to folders" mode right now. Drag one speed dial onto another and release to create a folder, they just stay as individual speed dial buttons and auto-arrange themselves. Same happens when dropping a speed dial on an existing folder, except for those occasions when it decides to work. Again, haven't been to relate the working times with anything else,
Duh. Just read the "before posting" linked posts. Lots of things I should have tried. Sorry.

Can't add speed dials to folder.Opera for Windows
I've searched the forum, but came up empty. Running the latest version of OfW, but I've had this problem for a quite a while.
At some point, I can't add any more speed dials to a folder. The number varies, could be 2, 8, 10, 12, whatever. Sometimes I can't even create a folder. I haven't been able to associate this behavior with anything else.
Can't believe I'm the only one experiencing this. Did I miss some posts somewhere?

RE: Is there any way to get bookmarks out of Opera for Android?Opera for Android
@elizabethjdahl101 I tried sync.opera, com on both the older tablet running OfA and the desktop running the latest OfW, After logging in to Opera, both say "This page isn't working. http error 500". Guess I'm just lucky that way.

@sgunhouse Thanks, but "This Page Isn't Working".

RE: Is there any way to get bookmarks out of Opera for Android?Opera for Android
@mekidon Thanks for the reply. Gave up on Sync all together (got tired of entering my username/password over and over). Tried Flow a half-dozen more times. It looks like it's working on both ends (I get the rotating arc on both desktop and tablet), but then I get the "Failed to Connect" message on the tablet, saying further that "connection declined on your other device" (desktop says "You made it!").
Searched the "Opera for Android" forum for "Failed to Connect" specifically. Looks like this problem is well known and has existed for a very long time. [sigh]

Is there any way to get bookmarks out of Opera for Android?Opera for Android
I'm trying to move from an older to newer android tablet. Older tablet has Opera for Android 64.2.3282.60128. I've tried Sync multiple times (endless loop of logging in, and some server errors) and Flow to my desktop pc multiple times (tablet eventually says connection refused by desktop, and some server errors). Windows desktop has Opera 78.0.4093.184. Tried installing Opera Mini on the same older tablet hoping settings would migrate from one version to the other... Ha!
I'm at the point where I'm ready to get out pencil and paper and write down the URLs for all my Speed Dial buttons and bookmarks. This is nuts,
As near as I can tell from browsing the forums, there are related problems that have existed for some time and that Opera is not addressing,
I've been using Opera since the only other real browser choices were Netscape Navigator or the computer security threat known as Internet Explorer, but it might be time to move on.

RE: I give. How does one change paths under Opera 34?Opera for Windows
Try --user-data-dir
Thanks, I will try this, but it appears that will move the cache, so I need to find a way to keep any caches on the local drive.

RE: I give. How does one change paths under Opera 34?Opera for Windows
search for Chromium command lines
Holy cow. There are a bunch of them, aren't there? This might take a while as I'm not seeing anything obvious like
"--profile-path". -

Multi-user. Sorry, should have mentioned that.

I give. How does one change paths under Opera 34?Opera for Windows
Finally made the switch from 12 to 34 under Win7. Everything went pretty well, but I had to move my Ver.12 profile to the ".../users/..../AppData/Opera Software" directory to import bookmarks and whatnot. I much prefer to keep my profile on a networked drive that gets backed up regularly. Pretty easy to do under Ver.12 and before, but I've yet to find a way to do this with 34. I assume I need to add some startup parameters to the shortcut, but what?
