Just want to share my succesfull experience from past minutes.
Latest Opera version for Windows desktop. Experienced a sudden crash, followed by an instant restart by Opera, resulting in a lost Session. A session of over 200 tabs was close to be lost.
Such crashes I did not noticed for very long time, last time before the user profile folder structure was reorganized in Opera in 2021.

Happily I managed to recover it.
While Opera it's not closed yet, it's necessary to do a backup of this folder - %AppData%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Sessions
After closing this empty Opera session, replace the content of current Sessions folder with that from backup, and delete the file Session_########## with the smallest size from those two (only a few bytes). Eventually the smallest Tabs_### file if there are 2 as well. This should do the trick.

How to deal with this?

I can't manage properply my 100+ open tabs.
There should be a multi-row tab bar feature.

In the recent Opera versions, now when you try to "Save image as" Opera is forcing you to save the image in .webp format. I've tried to save a JPG-type image (with .jpg in URL), and during the saving process changing manually the extension from .webp to .jpg, and then .jpeg, and it didn't worked, the file was corrupt. With another image, a PNG, it worked changing the extension, but with a JPG it didn't.
Why Opera creates such problems? Keep being simple pls. Nobody needs that .webp format.

@leocg Mm. But I don't need workspaces, I just want to split the tabs into multiple rows, to see them all the time and to have a (very) quick acces to them.

I usually don't clean-up the history, so it's accumulated over years.
Now I noticed that deleting by one item in Opera history, it take around 10 seconds that deletion will be done. This is very very slow.
Has anyone else noticed this?

No chages, the problem still persist.
I have some 15 extensions.
At each start of Opera, this message appear. Clicking on button, going to the extensions list does not show me which of the extensions has the problem, no indication at all, and seems that there even are no new updates for my extensions. A bug?

Opera needs a better history manager (cleaner) in order to properly filter, select, and delete big number of entries.

Use case
My History storage file has 35 MB and stores data for around 10 years. With the current Opera features I simply cannot manage my browsing history properly. In other browsers such issue doesn't exist. At least selective multi-select option is needed. You can inspire from Vivaldi for a better history manager.

Is there a way to clear old & unused Opera cookies (may be also a third party tool for other browsers as well)?
My Opera installation is very old (some 5-10 years) and I have a huge amount of cookies saved for some 10.000 websites. I'd like to preserve the most recent cookies (from the last 1 year), but to remove the one older than 3 years and if possible to filter them by used/unused to remove only those unused. Some websites I accessed only one or a few times several years ago so such data I don't want to keep.
Note that I don't want to loose the hostory, maybe only the associated entries. And I don't want to loose recent cookies.

The file "History" (without any extension) is located in %AppData%\Opera Software\Opera Stable (paste and go, in Windows Explorer). Don't upload it nowhere, never! Only tell what size it has.

I want to understand the anomaly with my own file (seems that it's way too big).

Noticed this a few months ago, and today again on a clean Opera on a freshly installed Windows. Opera couldn't finish downloading some small updates from Microsoft Update Catalog. It stuck at some 99.99%.
Checked the same MS download in a newly installed Firefox and it worked perfectly.
On Opera started again the same download, and the same problem occured. Paused and relaunched them again, and no succes. Waited so for some 10-15 minutes and they didn't finished to download.

Oh, that magnifying glass on the top right dissappeared for me for an unknown reason.
But thanks for the tip with the menu. I didn't noticed this feature was present in menu. It's what I searched for.

I had once active and enabled a feature like "Search in Tabs". After resintalling the browser, now I can't find it in my Opera. Is it gone for everyone or just me?

Yesterday I've had some PC crashes with Opera in work and opened with a full session, and after that it became somehow broken. I've reinstalled Opera over again. Prior to this, I've recovered the working session from the profile directory, but, it is not fully working as previously. So, my session has some 200 open tabs, and after this incident, after accessing a tab, it does not become active itself - it does not load the webpage itself, and it is waiting for me to do it. The reload function does not work (either the button, or F5), and Opera waits for me to resend the URL manually again - one 'Enter' in the address bar is suficient. So, now, to reactivate these tabs I'll have to resend the URLs manually for each tab. A simple click on tab, or quick reload does not work.
I am on Windows 7 & Opera 95.0.4635.84.
Before this incident it worked fine. Is there a way to fix this issue? Maybe it's already known.

Opera must have option for multiple selection of cookies, for mass deletion (but not total).

I have a lot of useless cookie entries for many websites, which I want to delete, but doing this one by one is annoying. Multiple selection would be very usefull there.

After latest updates (January-February) Opera has become more unstable in low-RAM machines. I get crashes very often, almost in each session. A part of crashes are also losing the current session and I have to restore it manually from folder.

I am thinking about a downgrade now.

As of today (Version:90.0.4480.54), I just tested again and I see the problem is gone. The feature works ok for me now.

Let's say I have a session of 100 tabs. Some 5-10 of them are activated and these tabs have each by a individual history of some 5-7 pages.
Previously, when I used Clear Browsing Data it cleared all this individual history of active tabs. But now it does not do this anymore. After one of the latest Opera updates this feature was modified?
