@joefonebone It's a disasterous mess. What on earth were they thinking? I have lost my workspaces, and the old tab sort arrows were great, and now they gone.

RE: General Opera One Feedback TopicGeneral
Unbelievably dreadful update. I have lost all my workspaces with many gyazo images. The Tabs is now a disaster, and the perfectly fine address bar arrows to go back and forth through tabs has gone, and we have this totally unintuitive mess for tabs which I couldn't watch past the first 15 seconds.
Thanks a bunch, Opera! Words fail me at how something this stupid -and there is no other word for it - could even get the green light?! Have all the previous Devs gone, and some fresh graduates been taken on or what??? What a mess.

RE: Tabs are piled up and its impossible to see themOpera for Windows
@steelh Brilliant. That deleted all my tabs. Seriously????

RE: General Opera One Feedback TopicGeneral
@canadagoose4everreturns yes. There's an old saying, ignored by young Opera Devs...."If it ain't broke don't fix it."
Frankly, I am livid, and Opera deserve to go down the toilet with this abortion. -
RE: General Opera One Feedback TopicGeneral
Opera update critical posts deleted
What a bunch of jokers. In my case months of work has been lost because of gross incompetence and tik tok level devs creating quite possibly the worst update in Opera history.

RE: General Opera One Feedback TopicGeneral
@t-bone-tone Oh, and I've just lost all my tabs. Magnificent job, Opera. Someone needs firing.

RE: General Opera One Feedback TopicGeneral
@t-bone-tone As for 'recovery' lol...BOTH options remove your pinned tabs! Facepalm.
Someone, please tell me this a horrible joke and I'm going to wake up with a working Opera browser instead of this nightmare of unintuitive bilge. -
RE: Lost all my browser tabs after forced update and reboot.General
@burnout426 Apols for late reply.
Yes, I tried that. Opera doggedly completely ignored the restored seesion and tabs files and rewrote them with shiny new empty ones.

RE: Bank does not recommend the use of Opera for transactionsGeneral
@luisca Very wise of your bank. I can no longer trust this browser to do what you set in settings' having lost 40 plus tabs and 8 workspaces in an auto update that clearly was different to every previous update on 23 July.

RE: Lost all my browser tabs after forced update and reboot.General
@opeepo10 Same here. Approx 48 tabs gone and 8 workspaces. Opera had updated automatically many many times before with no issues, settings had save tabs set, etc, so I assumed this would always be the case.
Worse, I managed to use ShadowExpress to find what looks like my tabs file from just prior to the catastrophe on the 23 July, but despite trying all the usual tricks, renaming, etc, deleting the newer files for tabs and sessions, Opera happily overwrites and doesn't open the old tabs file. -
RE: Session restore brokenOpera for Windows
@burnout426 said in Session restore broken:
Goto https://web.archive.org/web/20221027220343/http://lsauer.net/chrome-session-restore/#. Once there, click the badge at the left of the address field, goto "site settings" and set "popups" to "allow".
Couldn't even find 'site settings' after clicking the site banner left of the address bar, which is what I presume when you say 'badge'.
There's 'tools' but that simply lists options for Wayback Machine Avaialability API, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, MS Edge, etc, none of which bring up settings.

RE: Session restore brokenOpera for Windows
@unterguru Yes. Opera Mickey Mouse intern devs clearly been releasing an update while the team was at the pub.
Ive lost 30 plus tabs and 8 workspaces.

RE: Session restore brokenOpera for Windows
@unterguru Yes. Opera are up to their tricks, once again. This is highly annoying. I've lost 30plus tabs and 8 workspaces. Older restore recovered tabs and sessions files are just overwritten....even using console to give them up to date timestamps.

RE: all my extensions are wiped away bar 4Opera for Windows
@P1tzO I wasn't so lucky.
Windows restore, like you show only had - bizarrely - a previous version from 2019!I tried ShadowExplorer, and this managed to find what looks like my full tabs file and session file from three days ago.
Only snag is, copy/pasting, changing them to the latest tabs and sessions files names, even setting date and time the same and deleting the smaller new files didn't work.

RE: all my extensions are wiped away bar 4Opera for Windows
@P1tzO I
lost 30 plus tabs and 8 workspaces with this stupid update -
Dreadful Update wipes Tabs and WorkspacesTab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
30 plus tabs and 8 workspaces wiped.
Sessions stored at C:\Users\toneb\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Default\Sessions don't even go two days back!
Using ShadowExplorer to restore C:\Users\toneb\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Default\Sessions from 3 days ago...at least finds my tab file at 13515KB, but copying it and renaming it to latest tab file and deleting the uselss new one simply results in Opera aggressively overwriting it back to bugger all∈stead of restoring.
Seriously??

Yet, again....an update wipes my entire tabs and workspacesOpera for Windows
30 plus tabs.
8 workspaces.I thought those days were over? It's been a good 5 or more years since Opera did this, and I was thinking it was now solid and no way would it forget/wipe tabs.
Nope.
Seriously!!!!!
