@Jorgelpoga When you hover the link, which address does it shpw?

There are two obvious possibilities, either it is something Amazon is doing or there is an extension redirecting the links. Then the actual problem, either ringconn isn't working the way it should be or ... well, no, the message is from ringconn so it isn't being blocked..

Okay, then I'll guess it is an extension, most likely the Continue Shopping extension. Does it work properly if you turn that feature off in Settings? Or do you both use some other Amazon/shopping related extension which might be the cause?

        @sgunhouse TY
I disabled Continue Shopping in Settings. No change. Still get the error message.

@leocg So then it's an Amazon thing, not an Opera theng. 😞

If they are using a script, you may be able to right-click Open the links (it will bypass "on click" scripts if you use the context menu). Otherwise you need to wait for Amazon to fix it.

@sgunhouse I mean that clicking on the link in the first post results on that message, no matter the browser.

When I tried to access amazon.com, I was redirected to the local Amazon page.

@jimjinnj It was a shortcut that you've created? Or it was one that comes with Opera?

@leocg no shortcut. I am clicking links directly on Amazon, e.g, a pair of shoes. but not all links result in the odd message. some work.

@sgunhouse I just clicked "amazon basics" link on the landing page. I got the error again. however, if I right click, choose "open in link new page" it goes through.
so I am agreeding with someone here that it is a amazon issue.
I will let it go and see what happens. thanks for all the help and isdeas, folks.

@jimjinnj Not Amazon unless it only happens while logged in - some extension though still using "on click" script. I have no account on Amazon, if I go to the front page the links work fine. So ... no other obvious Amazon or Shopping extensions?

@leocg A malformed link will still be malformed in a different browser, it's like clicking a link to an error message.

TY. I think I found the issue. I disabled all my extensions. the one that seems the culprit is Auto Refresh Page.
very useful for certain sites I want to refresh every few minutes but apparently doesn't play well with Amz.
should I report that to anybody?

@jimjinnj You could try to report it to the developer, though honestly why an auto-refresh extension should be tracking your Amazon clicks is suspicious.

@jimjinnj Thank You! I was having the exact same issue, removed Auto Refresh Page extention and now all good. I'm kinda wondering what else it was doing that I didnt see?

@jimjinnj said in Amazon error message. "malformed link":

                                Auto Refresh Page

                                Link to extension's page?
