Lost all bookmarks after Opera update

Wanted to change Opera 27 to Opera 23, before installation clicked 'update' and now all my bookmarks are gone.
Tried to find in \Users*\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\ but nothing. I can't believe this.
Is there maybe some another way to recover bookmarks?

C:\Users***\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable is the correct path. Asterisks in path I showed you, replace with your windows logon name. Copy and paste entire path into windows orb button/run and it will take you right to it. I see there is a bug in posting this. There should be a back slash after "Users". Doesn't show in the post, but shows when in the editing area for this post. Strange!

In the Markdown, the backslash is used to avoid formatting.
You could either try doubling it or use embracing the whole thing with backticks:

#sgunhouse - Already checked 'show hidden files'.
#drillbit - Tried and have two emty bookmarks file.
I think this never could happen with Firefox or Chrome. Opera, forever goodbye.

Try not starting lines with a hashtag.
Have you ever saved/backed up your bookmarks into a different location?
I had an issue with my Opera once - lots of recent bookmarks disappeared.
Much later it came out that the browser retargetted the operative bookmarks file's location upon the upgrade, while before that, it used my backed up bookmarks file instead of that remaining in the proper folder. -

did you try resetting all flags?
opera://flags/
My bookmarks were gone because of tree-in-bookmarks flag, but Opera 27 still doesn't have that flag (I think)
maybe some other flag is messing with your bookmarks
