CRITICAL! can't save anything on local or remote IP addresses

  • I can't use opera to download the backup files for my xirrus arrays or aruba networks access points. I also can't save PRTG graphs either. I also can't download anything from websites access by Ip addresses.

    For a Xirrus array:

    1. I type in an IP address to access the wireless access point's config
    2. I go to the tools>system tools>Download Current Configuration: xs_current.conf
    3. I right click and "save linked content as" and nothing happens.

It does the same thing for Aruba Networks access points as well as my PRTG network monitor's web interface. i right click to save a graph and nothing happens.

This has made the browser worthless for network management. Please fix this!

    [moved to beta and developer]

  • What Opera and OS versions are you using? When did the problem begin (that is, did Opera ever work in this regard, if so, at what version point)? Do other browsers work correctly with your local and remote IP addresses, and if so, which browsers?

  • Opera 29/Windows 8 This is the first time I've had Opera on this computer

Firefox and IE are fine. They both save from IP addresses.

  • If you're using Opera 29 you should post this in the Opera Developer forum.
Always remember that you use developer versions of any software at your own risk!
    :)

  • I use it due to the fact the main version won't let you import bookmarks! Why did they leave this critical browser feature out?

  • has ANYONE taken a look at this? Please. It's making this browser a no-go for network admins.

I even tried it on a machine with opera STABLE non-dev main and it was a fresh windows 8.1 install and the same issue. No IP address based saving!

  • Last time I've checked i was able to download a file from my router.

  • on local IP from dev and from a link and not a button?

  • on local IP from dev and from a link and not a button?

Hmm, from a button. I'll try to check later with a link.
