      Hello,

After a Windows update, all my opera snapshots saved earlier than 3 days ago are now showing as MS-DOS app and can no longer be opened nor viewed ("this app can't run on your pc"). Any idea how I can restore them to the previous format? Thanks.

@mingus56 They are image files and should be opened in any image viewer.

In Windows, goto "Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps", scroll down to the bottom and click "Choose defaults by file type". Then, type .png in the search field, click "Choose a default" for ".png" and pick the program you want to handle png files. For example, you can set it to the Windows "Photos" app or Opera or another browser.

Another way to do things is to right-click on a png file, goto "open with", click "choose another app", pick the app you want and click "always".

A DOS app should end in .com

If something changed the extension, change it back (and use a good anti-malware tool to try to find out why it was changed). If the files still end in ,png then do as burnout said and fix the file association.
