      Hello Opera Community!
This is my first post. I have been having an ongoing issue that brings me here. Some websites display symbols of letter's rather than the actual letters. Check out the pic. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, hopefully it's an easy fix. Thanks for your time.

        Welcome to the Opera Forums.

        • How to post about problems with specific sites

An active link to the page is important if we are to reproduce the issue. We should not have to figure it out the site and the page from the screen shot.

This problem occurs across many websites, not specific to any one in particular.

Then how can we know which of those "many web sites" to check?

This issue has occurred consistently on the following sites:

              http://www.ccophoto.com/
              www.netflix.com (pictured above)
              http://www.mpix.com/

              Thanks for your help.

Both links are displaying fine for me in Opera 11.64 or 12.15

In Opera, via Ctrl+F12 > Webpages > Normal font (and Monospace font), what is shown in the two boxes that set up defaults for pages without a specific style? Most likely they'll be listed as something like Times New Roman and Consolas (respectively). Are those fonts working correctly on your system - especially the monospace font? It's also possible that certain pages' "specified" fonts are misbehaving on your system. What you're getting seems to look much like a Wingding font, or something similar, for many (but not all) portions of the page.

FYI, using 12.14, all three of the pages you reference look fine on my system.

                      Hello,

You have a problem with web fonts (downloadable fonts).
Opera 12.12 randomly displays the wrong font on a webpage

I though I was the only one who notices this, and this occurs on every website.:)

These days it's mostly being reported in Linux as there is no later version of Opera for Linux yet.

If you see it on every website - including this one - then it is something else, since MyOpera does not use web fonts.
