If I redownload Opera, will everything sync automatically? I don't want it to sync.

Hello, so I recently got a virus on my computer after clicking on a suspicious link. I was signed into my Opera account at the time and panicked, so I closed my browser and then reopened it. This time it appeared fine, but when I closed the browser it had opened a 2nd browser and started opening a ton of random links; so I shutdown my computer and unplugged it.
The following day I brought my computer to a tech store, where they then wiped my hard drives. Afterwards, I got back home and started getting my PC set up again. Now the question is, if I redownload Opera and sign in, will it sync my previously opened tabs automatically?
Because that's the last thing I want to happen. I signed into Opera Sync on Edge (Which I'm currently using) and it showed me that my previous session had 36 tabs open!?!?!?
So I did the whole "Passphrase" thing and I think I erased my synced data...? But I'm still very weary.
Additional info: My computer's name isn't the same as it was prior to this happening. Because on Opera Sync it said the info was synced to "DESKTOP-insert random things here" and now since my computer is going by a different name, does that mean if I sign-in, my tabs wouldn't be synced since it was only synced to the old one...?
TL;DR
If I download Opera and then sign into my Opera Account, would it automatically sync everything? Or would I have to manually do that? Cause preferably, I want nothing synced except my passwords and bookmarks. -

@Phasewaves You don't have to sync open tabs if you don't want to. When you enable xync, you can choose what to sync - so don't sync tabs. After that first sync you could then re-enable tabs if you wish.
