@stefanvd I solved the problem by going back to the previous version.

Opera 116.0.5366.21 version = white flashbang problem

Opera 115.0.5322.77 version = problem free

Of course I will skip updating to newer and bad version.

*Thanks Opera, now I am hesitant to install future updates too just because you break a feature that no other browser breaks.

Totally agree the white flash is back and painful; Opera really needs a setting to force a consistent default background color when loading or switching pages.

@jenniferwilliams latest two versions including 133.0.5932.34 does a flashbang based on theme colors , even more annoying - sending bug report ends in this error Couldn't send request

if vivaldi had a highlighted text menu, i'd made the switch.
