Can you upload a new dictionary to Opera? the Opera spell check is very bad, no suggestions, simple things like ei or ie are not found when checking.

@scubadogs1742 Opera doesn’t support uploading new dictionaries, but you can add more dictionaries in settings or use extensions like Grammarly for better spell-checking.

Here is how you can have this sorted.
Steps to Update/Add a Dictionary in Opera
            Access Opera Settings:

Open Opera and go to the settings menu by clicking the Opera logo in the top-left corner and selecting Settings.
Alternatively, type opera://settings into the address bar.
            Enable Spell-Check:

Scroll down to the Languages section or search for "spell check" in the settings search bar.
Ensure that the spell-check feature is enabled.
            Add New Dictionaries:

If you want to use a specific dictionary, download it in the Hunspell .dic and .aff format.
You can find Hunspell dictionaries at sites like OpenOffice Dictionaries.
Place the dictionary files in the appropriate directory. On most systems, this will be:
            Windows: C:\Users<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Dictionaries
            macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Dictionaries
            Linux: ~/.config/google-chrome/Dictionaries
If Opera doesn't recognize the dictionary, you might need to create a directory for it.
            Edit Languages and Input Settings:

            Return to Opera’s Languages settings.
Click Language and Input Settings (or equivalent depending on your version).
Under Spell-check languages, add the dictionary you installed.
            Test the Updated Spell-Check:

Restart Opera to ensure the new dictionary is loaded.
Right-click in a text input field, select Spellcheck and verify that your chosen language/dictionary is active.

            Alternative Solutions:
Use Grammarly: Install the Grammarly extension for more advanced spell-checking and suggestions in Opera.
Switch to Chrome or Firefox: These browsers may offer better native spell-check performance if Opera’s enhancements are insufficient. You can learn more about this [HERE](link url=https://japaguru.com/check-nigerian-navy-batch-33/)

@scubadogs1742 As far as I know, Opera uses Chromium spell checker.

@scubadogs1742 Spell checker seems to work here.
