How to remove social networks from sidebar?

Hi. Been using Opera for a little bit now. Today I randomly see a social media bit on my sidebar. I absolutely did not add that. Social Media is a cesspool of degeneracy. I am curious on how that got put there without me adding it, how I prevent any other social media from being there, and if there is anything else this platform is doing without my knowledge?
Coming here I had to actually create an account and consent to information collection and marketing emails. Opera is suppose to be above that. (I thought) So, is there a way to remove that stuff once I get the information I am looking for? Not to interested in every single website I go to collecting information (yes yes, I know, I can't stop it). Would deleting this account achieve the goal of leave my info alone and don't send me emails?
Thank you in advance.

@bobbobbobbobbob The TOS are kind of generic, much of it doesn't actually apply to the forum.
There is a tendency for features to reappear periodically if they added something new to a section and want to make sure you can see it. It doesn't happen all that often.
