@neewuser: well they seem to already fix the issue on https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2023/08/opera-103-0-4906-0-developer-update/
but havent yet push that update, pretty annoying when you really need to use your browser quickly, you have to wait for that splash screen... -

ok, now opera startup time is like 20 seconds, yesterday before I updated it was like 2-3 seconds max. I don't want to clear cache and such

The browser close X button and the O menu button should be clickable also from the corners. Remember the Windows start menu design paradigm which stems from aeronautics concepts?
Now if you move straight to the top right corner you need to think to manually adjust your cursor to be right on top of X, not on the edge. Design>function -

@spike666 Itβs Windows specific. Came with version 102 and will hopefully end with 103.

This browser used to be better... now every time I start I have to watch that update animation, honestly it seems that the stable version has become the test version.

Well Opera, I give up ....
I have been an Opera user since a few days after it was released to the U.S. I have sung your praises on numerous occasions and even stuck with you through the move to Chromium (not a good move IMHO). But these latest problems with profile migration are killing me!
I went through all the pains these last few releases, but finally had 102.0.4880.29 working correctly. Then when I updated from .29 to .33 nothing migrated, so I followed the instructions about copying Default data over. That worked good for a few days, and now I saw .40 released. As soon as I upgraded - Bam! - no profile migration. So I went back to the blog post instructions for moving profile data, but this time it didn't work correctly. So no choice but to roll back to Version 101.
So now I have officially rolled back to 101.04843.58 and have all my data. I have synched my Opera account to make sure it all goes to the cloud, but as you know that doesn't capture everything. I have also deleted "opera_gx_splash.exe" to get rid of that annoying startup screen. It looks like I am stuck using 101 for a long time.
Even this one still has issues: "O" Menu button is not rendered correctly, Minimize/Maximize buttons do not work in Win10, you can't drag and drop bookmarks into folders, and a few other things. I have been living with these since they were just inconveniences, but how can you upgrade from 102.xxx.29 to .33 to .40 (all within version 102) and still not have profile migration working correctly. Once you have moved profile data shouldn't all subsequent 102 versions read from the same folders?!?!

"You deserve a better browser" - We deserve better developers of this browser and maybe finally some decent testers. Every new release, there are such bugs that we just sit down and cry. When will some feedback to the button that adds something to Flow? On the desktop version of Opera I press that button and nothing, not even a blue notification on the icon on the sidebar. I do not mention the problems with connecting devices to Flow, just read your forum. From a good browser you have made an ugly, broken crap.

Over the past few days, I've had three or four cases where I clicked on the new tab '+' and Opera instantly closed and reopened (w/o the open tabs).

Please restore the "X" button for closing tabs, available for touchscreen devices.
Also, please bring back the button for returning to the main screen.
These were two functions I used frequently in older versions of Opera... -

Such buggy stable builds can be caused not only by devs or QA. It can be also a Product Owner/Manager that knows about all the bugs, but still pushes the team to release new versions. Anyway - these are/were silly decisions to give us such unbaked piece of software. Shame on you, Opera.

@hectormaciasa1979 hi, nothing to do with Opera here, but I suggest you switch from Epic Games Launcher to Heroic Launcher. It's open source and not so dummy slow/buggy/terrible UX. You can use it to download and launch Epic, GOG and Amazon games. You can also make it launch unrelated games downloaded separately and actually, probably any other software you want (didn't test this last one, but I assume it can, based on how it can be set to launch any unrelated game you have installed). It also has a setting to add the game to the Steam launcher, but I've never tested that. I think you can manually add unrelated stuff to Steam's launcher too though.

Please turn off the sound with the splash screen on start up β or at least make it an option. Itβs annoying and unnecessary, and like auto playing sound with videos, at work it can cause the user trouble.

The issue of the cut-off DevTools at the top is still present in this release unfortunately.
