I find more often than not that Aria's content and its commentary are biased far left. Looks like a few algorithms need to be adjusted.

@davidf44 I have not noticed such biased information. You can try further

@davidf44 Agreed. Resolution: just don't use it. When I do go to Bing (which is seldom), I never use the Chat GPT AI. I stick with reliable search engines (DuckDuckGo, Brave, Ecosia, Start Page...).

What do you mean "Biased Left?" Politically? Most AI use search results from common search engines such as Google, Bing, etc... so if you ask Aria a pointed question you might end up with an answer based upon a specific search engine. (This is not always the case, answers can also be preprogrammed or suggested based upon input from other users as an AI learns) Just depends on what you are asking it. I have yet to experience this though, I use Aria every single day to help me with tasks at work and at home and so far the experience has been wonderful. You also have to realize that Opera Software is from another country that may have different views than your own.
There could be a million reasons for this. Just use something else if Aria is not to your taste. If you can provide examples of what you are talking about this would be helpful.

Far left indeed. It is not able to summarize an accountable critique to feminism, woke culture or even Stalin. I felt like I was talking to a robotic college student in the US. On the other hand, Aria offers a poor view of family and traditional values. I feel sorry that censorship get into algorithms.

@mrdavidagroves I didn't know that Aria AI is based on algorithms to dig up popular opinion's vs scientific unbiased research. Aria should warn users of such and disclose their algos.

@canadagoose4everreturns Public feedback to move AI towards balanced unbiased research algorithms vs popular opinion is critical.

@davidf44 You make a great deal of sense (to me, at least). Thanks for the insights.

I asked Aria: „Can you explain the difference between politically right and left? And what would you say is generally preferable?“
And that’s, what I got:
„ The terms "right" and "left" in politics generally refer to the position of a party or ideology on the political spectrum. Here's an explanation of the main differences between the two:Politically Right vs. Left:
Economic Views:
Right: Generally supports free market capitalism, limited government intervention in the economy, and lower taxes. Emphasizes individual economic freedom and the role of the private sector.
Left: Tends to advocate for more government intervention in the economy, progressive taxation, and social welfare programs. Focuses on reducing economic inequality and providing a social safety net.Social Views:
Right: Often holds conservative social values, such as traditional family structures, religious influence, and a focus on law and order. May prioritize national security and sovereignty.
Left: Tends to prioritize social equality, individual freedoms, and may advocate for progressive social policies, such as LGBTQ+ rights, gender equality, and multiculturalism.Role of Government:
Right: Generally supports a smaller government with less regulation in both the economic and social spheres. Emphasizes personal responsibility and individual freedoms.
Left: Often advocates for a more active role for the government in regulating the economy and providing social services. Focuses on addressing social issues and promoting equality through government action.International Relations:
Right: May emphasize national interests, sovereignty, and a strong military presence. Tends to prioritize national security and may advocate for a more assertive foreign policy.
Left: Often supports international cooperation, diplomacy, and may prioritize human rights and global issues. Tends to advocate for more restrained foreign policy.Environmental Policies:
Right: Often prioritizes economic growth and may be more hesitant to implement strict environmental regulations that could impact businesses.
Left: Tends to prioritize environmental protection and may advocate for stronger regulations to address climate change and environmental degradation.Preference:
The preference for right or left political ideologies is subjective and varies from person to person. Some may prefer the principles of the right, such as individual freedom and limited government intervention, while others may prioritize the principles of the left, such as social equality and government support for those in need. It's important to note that both sides have valid concerns and can contribute to a healthy political discourse. Ultimately, the choice between right and left is a matter of personal values and the specific context of each issue.“That doesn’t sound like bias either way. Dies it?

Aria is based on ChatGPT and Google PaLM engine, with Google search integration. This means that whatever those two AI models give it (or 'her', as you may say) and whatever the top results on Google are is going to be a basis for what it tells you.

Unfortunately, that isn't something Opera can do. That would be up to OpenAI and Google. While Opera could technically switch to a model like Claude or Llama, the results would be the same. Opera could only fix this issue by making their own AI model (a great undertaking indeed!).
I do have an “Unbiased” AI bot that you can test here:
I hope this is insightful.

I‘d be more worried when they were biased right, actually.
But I haven’t seen any bias so far. -

In my experience, all the chats - or at least the most well-known ones, are left-biased to a greater or lesser degree. And, insofar as they make use of the search engines, these too are left-biased to a greater or lesser degree. Surprisingly, Yandex is the least biased.
