Drop down menu for bookmarks?

My desktop computer is not a smart phone. I don't want huge icons filling up the screen, ala the most recent Gnome desktops and now Opera's webkit-based browser, I don't like Speed Dial, I don't care to have a bookmarks bar taking up screen real estate. I just want a drop-down menu, like what you had through Opera 12.xx. Does that exist or is it planned for newer Operas? Is there an extension that has that functionality?

We have it in the current version. It's the 4th item down in the main menu ...
