I am very patient with Opera issues. But this one is stupid, annoying and stupid. And I don't see an option to turn this shit altogether. I am speaking about this f...ing splash screen, that some designers worked for years, then programmers programmed for weeks and now I just need 10 seconds of method to kick it in the ass.
How to turn this off or goodbye Opera?

There's a lengthy thread posted on this quite a while ago ...Do a search for it

Hello
How to disable the sound that accompanies the launch of the Opera One 103.0.4928.26 64-bit browser?
How to disable the logo pop-up that appears when Opera One starts up?
Regards

There's no option to control it. But, it should only show up after an update from one major version to another (103 to 104 for example).
However, whenever Opera has a bug where it shows up every single time you start Opera, you can avoid it by deleting opera_gx_splash.exe in the latest version folder in the install folder.
Btw, 104.0.4944.36 is the latest version at this moment.

@xishiliya It was refreshing the first time, but after it is just annoying. It should be option tu turn off completely. It is option to turn off, but it is ignored first run after an update.

@emivy This disables it for normal runs, but after each update of the browser, it shows again and plays the sound on first run, even with this setting set to disabled.

@waldoawesome Yes, it's expected to show up after major versions updates.

I have disabled it in the flags-settings, but sometimes it still makes a loud sound at startup. It doesn't happen every time, but it didn't do that before either. I don't care about the small windows that stays on my screen for a few seconds, but I want to get rid of that sound.

Opera One, Windows 64, v105.0.4970.21
I've been an Opera user since 2006.I need a setting to permanently disable the start up splash screen always.
It is slow, obnoxious and LOUD. I have to mute all sounds on my computer, because I don't know when it'll pop up. It bothers my co-workers, distracts them and they look around to find the source of the noise.
Deleting a .gx file in the program directory is not a solution, because Opera is updating very frequently now.
I'll have to move to another browser until this is fixed.
Thank you, and my apology for ranting.

Wow, that was fast. Opera updated to 105.0.4970.29 a minute ago, and now splash! Thank you.
Please add a setting that allows me to disable it permanently.

@73chargerfan - I'm also on version: 105.0.4970.29 just a few moments ago but I haven't seen any splash screen. And that is true for the past 30 days and I use the browser everyday.

Opera has been my go-to browser for the last century, but this is so annoying that I made an account only to complain about it, giving Opera permission to gather and use my information without a means to opt out. It's this one item that has me considering alternative possibilities.
Think of opening your refrigerator, checking your watch, opening your sock drawer, and having to put up with a splash screen and a little song every time.

I know you can turn it off, after opera has installed its update but isn't about time opera stopped doing it. The noise is worse than an air raid siren going off outside your house, never mind in your house.
So, please please please drop it from your updates. Its really annoying and if my little un falls asleep downstairs its going to wake him up because you never know when an update changes the settings because even if you turn it off, its only off for 1 or 2 updates depending on what they are. You don't find out until you open opera and that oh so annoying noise comes on. Its a noise...if it had been a few notes of music without making full use of the speakers, It wouldnt be so bad.

@wdburgdorf There will be no solution. Someone higher up decided that spash screen are cool and an important marketing instrument. So Opera keeps the spash screen no matter how much we hate it.
