I have found a temporary solution for the Home Button missing.
Open the home button
Copy the page address
Go to the bookmarks bar and click add a site
The URL of the Home Button/Speed Dial page will be in the dialogue Box
Opera://startpageshared/
You now have a bookmark for the Speed Dial page that you can use like we used the little squares icon before.Let me know if this doesn't work, I might have missed a step.

Bring back the Home button in the browser.
It's shameful to use such poor software which doesn't even have the most basic navigation.
I've been using the Opera browser for 8+ years, Now I'm thinking of moving to another browser because the new Opera has removed the home button. -

@featheredleader thank you, I added it in my shortcuts. But that's a shortcut removed. Home button had zero reason to be removed.

Hi,
There is no more option, to display "Home button" in the address bar in Opera One. I think many users was very used to this feature (including myself). Now if I want to go to Speed Dial I always have to open a new tab which is pretty annoying.
Can you put back the home button option?

There is still hope guys, I´m testing the developer version and in the lastest updated the Home Button was added, so is just matter of time to reach stable version.

@joshkauff glad to see they finally see the light... I would also point out that I recently learned that hitting alt - home does the trick. Less intuitive than my muscle memory to go back home by clicking the start page button (as it's called by Opera), but a workaround.

Really starting to get fed up with Opera, been using it since its inception, and now it's all about making money and stealing our private info. As a developer, removing this button is a catastrophe and makes it so much harder for me. Once the best browser around now losing me to Chrome.
Please at least give us the option in settings to show home icon in front of address bar again. Poor development decisions by Opera, not thinking of what the user wants or needs. -

@gacornell
Hi
They removed it, but developer version 103.0.4892.0 brings back the home button, so I think it's only a matter of time before it becomes available again after a while in the stable version. -

Think they can now get rid of the giant "O" that comes up at the start of Opera that slows everything down and blows your ear drums out when you are wearing a headset. Now that would be nice!!!

@donjd The startup animation!, is inconsistent, in the developer version it was shown only on the first boot after that the animation is no longer displayed, it is supposed to be that way (only on the first boot or after an update), but sometimes it continues to be shown every time. To me it continues to appear in each boot in Opera Gx stable even when the option not to show is checked.

Sad news, today the developer update removed the homepage button again (103.0.4906.0), I'm starting to think that developers are adrift, they are making a lot of anti-user decisions.

@joshkauff so I think I stay little longer on new browser (with important buttons like home button, much more customable and bigger icons). Right now opera isn’t friendly to use.

@joshkauff There is now a setting to enable/disable the home/speed dial button. It seems to be disabled by default.
