I've been testing the Opera One browser and what I'm missing the most is the Speed dial button in the top. It takes me a while to remember where's the button, and it's much quicker opening a new tab than finding it in the left bar.
Can you please bring it back to its place, at least as an option to turn on/off?

@acerswap Agreed. If you are done with a tab and want to go to speed dial, it forces you to close it and then open a tab. Where as before it was a one click by hitting the home icon.

@nerverean Thank you that will help some. But I normally, when browsing, have my keyboard on a stand on the floor, so unless it's on my lap, it's still more cumbersome than previously. At the least Opera should have an option to add the home icon, or replace one of the existing 15. 8 of which I've never used. In writing this I see a submit feedback which I hadn't seen before. I guess I'll use one now, that I hadn't noticed before. 'Submit feed back" and ask for a change.

For a workaround you can enable the bookmarks bar and add the Speed Dial page. Then go to bookmarks and move it to the top of the list in the bookmarks bar section.

Yes please bring it back, it's the most annoying part about the new version. Some people like to have 50 tabs open but I like to keep them down. Having to open a new tab to get to speed dial and close any unused ones instead of recycle them with one click is annoying, even with mouse gesture.

@acerswap Hello, like everyone else I also like to have the Speed Dial button, for that I created a favorite in the favorites bar and I edited it by putting the address chrome://startpageshared , and that works

Thank you. All is well with the world now
Well except global warming, wars, famine... sigh. But thanks that works great.

I could not agree more the one great thing that had the edge over the other browser was the speed dial you could get to what you wanted just by pushing that button, and now it has gone from the address bar you have to use the back button this is not good enough get it back on the address bar ASAP and save my sanity?

I agree with everyone here, removing the speed dial button is very disappointing. I hope you'll put it back.

I couldn't agree more! The speed dial button is an integral part of my browsing experience and the only reason I didn't switch to opera GX. If this will not be added back I think I have to search for an alternative

Yes, please!
Why is Opera removing features completely form their browser?
Can't you make the home/speed dial button be an ON/OFF option? -

@barcab I'd think they could. It's probably only one line of code. Either they aren't listening or they don't care is the only thing I can think of. I've had like 2 or 3 updates since this thread started on June 2, and nothing from them, no change and no replies here.

@manuel60 Thank you, that did the trick! Very neat.
I still don't understand why such workarounds are needed – instead of just leaving an appreciated and perfectly well designed Speed Dial button in the address bar in place. -
