[Solved][Request]Option to disable Animation when switching workspaces

@bandiit 100% percent this, it's nice but animations (pretty much any kind) do not belong to purely functional software like internet browser. They're nice in certain websites, like portfolios and that's pretty much it.
No other software (or webpages) designed for actual work has any animations - for good reasons. They are distracting and waste your time.
And workspaces has word "work" right there! -

@wouterve Thank you so much! I'm still getting a slower move between workspaces but at least I'm not feeling seasick now!

It looks like there is now a formal option to disable the animation feature under Settings > Advanced > User Interface > Disable Animations. I'm not sure how recently this was added, but I just thought I'd update this thread.

@franan Thank you. I've used that option now, and it didn't actually stop the animation when changing between workspaces, so I've had to go back to disabling Hardware Acceleration. It was worth a try though.

@fairyhedgehog Thanks I needed a while to find the option but works now, big down site is that youtube videos stutter now is there any way to boost this without hardware acceleration ?
It is not major anything seems to work same. -

Unfortunately, there's no setting like this in non-GX opera.
Still, I don't want to disable hw acceleration but definitely want to disable ALL animations in opera.
How do I disable them in an easy and comfortable way?

@hellsfire No, that's what hardware acceleration is for. Disabling it to turn off annoying animations is a workaround, not a solution.
Anyway, I've just updated to version
101.0.4843.25
and official option calledReduce animations
has been added. -

@avgariat But it only reduces them. I still get the vertical shutter effect when I switch workspaces, unless I turn hardware acceleration off.

@franan Thanks developers for listening. For me it made the change I wanted.

Just thanks - Opera forced the update. But a older one without Reduce animation option. So I was searching for that solution about an hour. Thanks alot for the Thread opener and Devs who listen.
Switching just work areas without that animation is so nice!

For the ones who can not find the Reduce Animations option in settings, just update your browser using Update & Recovery option from the menu.

Thank You
This feature was so annoying. Now I wish to switch off the start-up sound when a new installation is done or starting opera...
I disabled it for this installation, but I wonder what the next update will do... -

@marwerno Sure, happy to help
I haven't seen anything in the settings menu to disable the start up sound, and some of the solutions I have found in other Opera forums look like they are outdated. It might be worth starting a new thread if the issue persists after the next update though.
I not sure what you ended up doing to disable the feature, but I found a few solutions on reddit that might work in case you're interested:

@avgariat Another workaround I found is to close your eyes for a second when you switch workspaces
Should we make a petition or what, to introduce this flag for disabling animations completely? I had to enable the Hardware acceleration otherwise embedded videos are choppy.

@ds936 no workaround is necessary, you can disable them in the options. search for "reduce animations"

@tuzumkuru Oops, that didn't work before, now it is working! Thanks a million!
