Disk full error when downloading to secondary drive.

I was installing a file (8.75 gb in size) to a microsd card (around 23 gb in free space) and the file stopped installing around half way through and I got the error message "Interrupted: Disk Full" even though I still had 9 gb of free storage left, and the explanation of temp files being installed to the main drive doesn't make sense because my drive c still had 40 gb of free space left. This only happens when installing files to a secondary or external drive, while using opera gx, please help.
