Load Speed Dial before history.

I have a fast machine (24 core Ryzen 9 3900XT). Yet starting Opera is a pain, because the Speed Dial takes so long to start. I found the problem. The Speed Dial appears faster if there's less history. If I reduce my history by selecting older dates and deleting "all history below", Opera loads much faster. To get the Speed Dial to load in what I call a reasonable time (within 3 seconds), I actually have to only keep the last few weeks of history. It's taking a second per week! Perhaps if it was multithreaded it would be better, but I'm going to assume that would be more difficult than the below.
Couldn't it just load the Speed Dial first? If I go directly to a web page, say by clicking a link in my email program, there's no delay. It's just the Speed Dial I have to wait for.

@hucker In my case this started to happen just recently (relatively).
I usually don't delete history. It means that I always have 3 months old history. If I don't mistake, Chromium automatically deletes history which is older than 3 months.
So previously (I don't remember how many versions ago) on the same PC and approx. the same amount of SD tiles were appearing almost immediately. -

All programs do that now, programmers have lost the ability to code tightly. I remember a 30KB mouse driver, now it's over 100MB. Photo editors such as Paintshop Pro and Photoshop take 30 seconds to load on a fast machine. What's gone wrong with the world?
Anyway I have to stick to 2.5 weeks of history to make speed dial fast enough, which will have to do. Usually I'm just looking for something I visited a few days ago. Best not to keep too much history anyway, incase well, someone might see what you've been looking up!
You gave me an idea though, I wander if the auto delete date is variable? I can't find an option anywhere.
