Change number of connections to news server?

I think Opera is making 4 connections to my newsgroups server. My account with them gives me 30 connections. How do I get Opera to use them all? When checking for new messages it can take ages because it's only checking 4 newsgroups at a time. It's nothing to do with bandwidth, they're just text newsgroups.

@hucker I'm not sure if you can change the number of connections.
Having more than 4 connections to a server wasn't very common and since there aren't updates in about a decade....

You can try taking a look at those configuration files (in) to see if you find something.
