@leocg Seems to be a common behavior then. If camera is in use, flashlight is not accessible.

That's why I suggested to implement a flashlight on/off button in the QR scanner UI like in other browsers.
*I don't use Opera mobile daily and just recently installed it again. I was really surprised that's there's no way to use the flashlight while scanning codes.

@andrew84 Maybe because usually the flashlight is not very helpful to QR code scanning?

@andrew84 In my (not much) experience, that option depends more on the phone than the app itself.

I mean that depending on the phone model, that option may show up or not even in the same app

            Maybe.
But on the other side, if it wouldn't be helpful, it wouldn't be in other browser (I use samsung internet mainly) and I find the feature helpful too.

So my suggestion is actual if the button's implementation is technically possible in opera browser.
Maybe in my case I see the button because the phone is samsung also and it gives rights access to flashlight.

*I checked it also in Firefox, Edge and Vivaldi - there's also no flashlight option in the QR scanner. But some of them (including Opera) provide quick access (long tap on icon) to QR scanner.

@andrew84 I also tried few apps just for the interest and most of them have the flashlight on/off ability, as expected.

@andrew84 Probably because of the phone, like I said. Maybe it's something that the phone has to offer.

A flashlight toggle button in the QR scanner UI would be a handy feature. And it's great that you brought it up!

Another app on your device may be using the flash at the same time. Consider closing other apps or restarting your device to see if that solves the issue.

BTW, try using a document verification service like idanalyzer.com to ensure the authenticity of your scanned documents. It's always a good idea to take extra steps to protect your sensitive information.

QR code scanner uses camera, and the flash is being used (reserved) by camera while the scanner in use.
