Usually hitting alt + p to open the settings page and then pressing F11 works.

@burnout426 thanks, I also finally found that right clicking on the page has the option.
So weird for me, used to hitting ESC in other apps.

In my case I just use F11. If by chance a page or a page control is blocking shortcuts or something, I could click on the background or press Ctrl-Tab to try from another tab, but honestly I don't recall having this issue.
I mention this just to avoid people going to the settings when it's not (or should not) be necessary. -

I'll never understand why developers Choose to make things difficult.
In other apps I hit Esc.
And this is why I and everybody I know have brain damage.
If you don't legislate common sense, you get chaos.

@christineaz Esc usually works too, but maybe something got messed up there for you.

@leocg Even F11 didn't work for me at that point. I can't remember anymore what I was doing, but it wasn't a normal webpage, I think some video or pdf. Shouldn't make a difference, and I was so stressed!

@leocg Actually, I just remembered, I had a 2nd monitor plugged into my hub. It was turned off, but yesterday Irfanview disappeared on me, and that's what got me to unplug it.
And that fixed the Firefox problem too, the Firefox windows I couldn't get to or permanently close no matter what I did.
But I'm glad I tried Opera (again) and really like the workspaces.
