Opera GX refusing to load sites

for some reason i cannot put in images.
my computer is running at a decent speed of internet, and when i mean decent, i mean what i use regularly, so i dont see it as the problem. that included if it was, i would've gotten a warning or a broken page site instead, but no. i get a loading screen with a dead color background, with nothing loading no matter how long i wait.
i checked the activity monitor and besides the "opera helper" no internet data was being used or picked up.
I have re-installed, removed chache, clean up as much data as possible, made a separate file to temporarily move all my data into to soft reset it all, nothing. i have no idea what to do, i want to continue using opera gx, and i am currently using a Lite browser for the time being.
im currently using a MacOS Monterey (12.4) MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, macintosh hd, and Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
