I tried, as you wrote, everything is all the same, previous pages don't open properly when it restarts. Another page opens.

@timhoj Download Opera Portable at https://www.opera.com/computer/portable and install it without changing anything. Check if the problem happens on that installation too.

@leocg
It happens on portable too.
It does show the latest tabs (the normal opera install, not just portable) if I before exiting close the previously lastest tabs.
What i mean is:
Lets say I install opera, open ebay.com, surf on that one tab and exit opera.
I start opera again - tab is ebay.com , I surf on that tab to facebook.com and exit opera.
I start opera again - tab is still ebay.com, not facebook.com .
But if in addition to ebay.com tab I open another tab and surf to facebook.com, close the ebay.com tab , when I reopen it will show the facebook.com tab. -

@leocg
yes, opening the old page is the only problem.
The other stuff I wrote is just me explaining what to do so it doesnt open the old page -> close the tab that the old page was on before exiting, meaning you shouldn't even surf on that tab because if you leave it open it will always show that page it opened with and not the page you left it at before exiting. -

I even reinstalled Windows - the problem still appears. I did my best, it doesn't depends on me. Please, fix!

@timhoj Weird. Definitely sounds like something outside Opera is interfering.

@burnout426
it sounds to me like it's Opera. What else could it be ?
It happens even in Safe Mode.

I can confirm that he isn't a one man case, i got this problem too after update 85.0.4341.47 on both my PC and laptop. I even reinstalled opera on my laptop, without any luck in fixing the problem.

@timhoj I'm just assuming it's not Opera since things work fine for me and you even tried with a fresh standalone installation (which has a fresh profile).
How are you closing Opera? With the X or Menu -> exit? Or, are you killing Opera or shutting Windows down without closing Opera first?
What happens if you goto the URL
opera://flags/#new-session-manager
, disable the flag, restart Opera, open some tabs, close Opera and reopen Opera. Does that do the trick? -

@burnout426 Disable session manager works. Now previous pages are opened properly. Thank you!

@proshor Goto the URL
opera://about
. What version of Opera are you using? -

@proshor Okay. For now, each time Opera updates, you can turn the new session manager flag back to default (enabled) and see if things start working properly. If not, turn the flag back off.
Ideally, you'd want to turn the flag on, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera, delete everything in the "sessions" folder, start Opera back up, open a few tabs, close Opera, and start Opera back up to see if your sessions are being restored properly with the new session manager. You can keep a standalone installation updated and just test things out there if you don't want to mess with your regular Opera.
