Links containing "Virtual tours" and 3D photography (of houses, museums etc., see link below) consumes close to 100% of CPU in Opera. For a comparison, Chrome browser takes about 15/20% and Edge about 10% or less.
Surprisingly, these do cause increased GPU usage.

Even a simple one like this: https://virtual-tours.com.au

      Opera version:83.0.4254.62
      --extensions disabled
      --customisation includes only bookmarks
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22000:
      Laptop: Acer Extensa 215-54
      processor: Core i5, 8logical CPU's
      Memory: 8GB

@gopalakrishnan I don't seem to have any problems with virtual-tours.com.au but that may be hardware-dependent.

@gopalakrishnan In opera://gpu, is WebGL listed as being hardware accelerated?

@leocg Thank you for the pointer!

Fixed it by enabling "Use hardware acceleration when available" in Opera Settings/system (tried a few steps before that; there are some seemingly overlapping settings for this)

(PS. I get an error trying to reply to your reply posting; hence doing this as reply to my own)
