User at https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/s03cv4/how_do_i_change_the_audio_output_device/ has a problem with a Bluetooth headset. Are your headphones wired or Bluetooth?

Hit Windows key + r to open the run dialog. Type
mmsys.cpl
in it and press enter. When your headphones are plugged in, on the Playback tab, do you see a green circle with a white check on your headphones device saying that it's the default? If not, set it as the default.
Also, select your headphones and click "properties". On the General tab, make sure "Use this device (enable)" is selected in the Device Usage drop-down. Also, check the settings on the other tabs in properties. Under Advanced, if the default format is 4ch or 5.1ch or something like that, try changing it to 2ch if possible to see if it helps. If not, change it back to whatever it was by default. Maybe try with enahancements off.
Make sure to restart Opera each time you make a change to the sound settings.

@burnout426 it's not working on Opera only, i already tested it on other applications, it works fine

@steve8166 Understood. But, I'd check those things just in case Opera is pickier than other browsers. I personally have no problems with wired or Bluetooth headphones in Opera.
What brand and model sound card/device do you have? What driver version? What Windows version? Are you using Opera Stable or Opera GX?
Does it happen with all audio in Opera whether it's just some sound file or a Youtube video?
While Opera is open and your headphones are plugged in, try checking the Windows volume mixer to make sure the Opera-specific volume is turned up.

Hi there! I had same problem in last two weeks. I've wireless earphones and it was silent when I wanted to watch Youtube for example. But Spotify app worked like a charm.
Solution that worked for me (Win11 Os): Open sound mixer from taskbar (Right click on speaker icon and choose Sound mixer)
In Apps section find Opera browser click on down arrow after volume bar and change Output device to Default. Thats it!This worked for me with Xiaomi Buds 3.

@viplayer13 Did you try the things listed about here and here?
In Windows settings, did you try going to "System -> Sound -> Volume mixer" and clicking the "reset" button at the bottom?
