When I sync my passwords with my opera account, this must mean that Opera is saving my passwords on a server somewhere. Assuming I maintain good account security on my end, to prevent someone else from logging into my Opera account, how securely stored are the synced passwords on Opera's servers? What sort of protection is there against data leaks, hacks, etc....? Thanks!

@jackgamesar How secure is the passphrase you set up when you created the account? Passwords have always been encrypted on the server, without the passphrase they can't be read. Even Opera Software can't read your passwords if you happen to forget the passphrase.

@sgunhouse I've chosen the option to secure them with my opera account credentials, rather than a unique passphrase. As I have 2fa and a strong password, I assume that means that, as long as no one gets access to my password, the saved passwords are securely encrypted on Opera's servers then? Thanks

@jackgamesar Even if someone could get into the server and steal your synced saved passwords, your Opera account credentials would be needed to decrypt it.

Or your passphrase if you have chosen to use that.
