      Hi
I've had a super rough past few hours please help if possible!
Basically I had a wild virus that forced me to reinstall windows
All of my old files were moved to the windows.old folder once the new installation was complete
I have been trying to simply import my passwords from my previous install to the new install
I added the flag that enables the import password option, however once I get to that window to select the Login Data CSV file to import, there are no files listed to choose from in my previous Users\NORMY\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable folder
I previously opened the file in notepad to make sure it's the correct one, and I'm to see all of my logins but the passwords are encrypted or whatever.
Anyway this file now has a notepad icon since it was last opened with that, so even if I switch to "view all files" (to select) I load it and nothing happens.
Is it possible to change it back to a CSV file? I didn't know opening it in notepad would change the extension like that. I tried changing it to Login Data.csv but it doesn't seem to be working as none of my login info is loaded
      Thanks in advance

@stanman212 CSV is not the format used by Opera to store passwords, but it is the format used to export passwords. If you had a way to run the previous install you could export them and then import them into the new version, but I presume you can't do that in your situation. 😞

The Login Data file is where your passwords are at. But, it's not a CSV file. The password importer only supports CSV files.

Since you don't have a CSV file, you would copy over the "Local State" and "Login Data" files from your old install choosing to overwrite the new ones. However, this probably won't work in your case because the Login Data file is encrypted based on your Windows account credentials and those have changed with your reinstall of Windows. You can try, but you're probably out of luck.
