Opera 25 Questions

hi there!
First of all, let me point out how very excited i am to see opera for linux move to beta. Now i have three questions:
- how long does it usually (approximately) take for the beta version to migrate to a stable branch?
- when it reaches stable, will there be also rpm versions for opensuse available?
- if i install 12, the current linux stable, will i just get an update to 25 through the same update channel?
Thank you.

RPM ... last I heard they wanted to let distros take care of the packaging. Opera Software will probably only host the same *.deb files they have now, what opensuse does is up to them. (Yeah, I know ... I also use an RPM-based distro so I'd prefer that format.)
Seems like beta --> stable has been about a month on Windows, in this case I won't make any guarantees though. If they don't think it's ready it may get bumped up again.
Obviously updates depend on your distro.

The cycle normally takes around 6 weeks, but Linux might be delayed to the next cycle if it's not yet ready to be stable.

If an rpm version appears, it will go through the normal testing: it will appear in Opera Developer first, then go to beta, then go to stable. It will not suddenly pop up in stable without testing in the experimental streams.

Maybe (if / when it reaches stable).

How can I test Opera if there is only a .deb version ?
I'm on openSUSE so, no luck here.Wouldn't be better to have a tar.gz package ?
