Opera cannot load preferences

Every time I run ccleaner and then launch opera 24, I get a message that Opera cannot load preferences.
Can someone please tell me which file or files I need to backup before running ccleaner so that I can restore them after running ccleaner.
It's a pain to have to reconfigure opera each time.
Thanks

There is an option in the applications tab (I think) in Ccleaner to omit certain things from being cleaned/removed for particular applications (Opera being one such supported application). You need to remove the tick from that particular (need to check which) setting, But I think it's something like 'Opera - Settings' or 'Opera - Preferences'.
I'm running Linux at the moment, so currently can not check.

Hmmm... internet history, download history, cache, cookies, sessions, last download location are all checked by default. I have run CCleaner with these checked and not experienced a need to reconfigure my preferences for Opera. Very odd.

CC Cleaner has been linked to problems with preferences in Opera and Chrome.
