An option to stop History suggestions in Address/Search Bar

There are multiple reasons and use cases where one would want to stop suggestions appearing which pull from the browser's history. "Just delete your history every time!" is an inadequate solution. Plus I know for my own purposes, I would like to keep my History rolling so I can find things I've found before.

@liazelle since when is this? I'm running latest Opera, then out of a sudden, if I click inside the address bar, I get exactly four searches from history. Your case might be different, as there are many quirks around address bar and search. Regards

@liazelle click the 'settings wheel' on the right side of the address bar and disable this weird feature. The "problem" is themed "disable suggestions before typing". I just solved it the usual way how you solve things in IT these days: give up solving it, come back 2-3 weeks later, and solve it.

I've figured this out! I understand this thread is kinda old, but I'm leaving this here for those who don't exactly wanna see their History and Bookmarks pop up in their searchbar; this works for both normal Opera and Opera GX, assuming you're opted into Beta features
Type in "opera://flags" and switch that "nice, neat, and very nifty" (sarcasm implied) feature "Address bar dropdown categories" from Default to Disabled.
Nice, quick, and unbelievably and annoyingly hard to find if it wasn't for the fact I stumbled on a normal Opera thread on a whole different site and found my solution there. I even went through the effort of creating an account here to put this here so others who don't really like seeing their bookmarks and history be displayed for the world to see (assuming you're streaming your desktop) could disable it. Glhf with never seeing "Bookmarks, History, Opera" in your searchbar again and only your searches!

@moneybun nice, very nice! I still have my bookmarks showing, but the categories disappeared. It definitely reduces the content, which was showing before. It does load a list of random guesses or so, say you enter 'test', what is showing? It lists a website, which is not bookmarked, but which I may have visited in the past (can't remember). Sometimes, a bookmark is showing with a (X) on the side, sometimes not.

Useful and logical options are removed, but the useless animation and similar stuff are being added and users are forced to use them.
