How to stop Opera from following a link on hoover automatically?

Nowadays, some news sites are composed of clickable links entirely. Simply, there is barely any space where I could place the mouse cursor that is not a link by design.
And on these sites, I frequently run into a problem with Opera as it follows (e.g. clicks) automatically and without user interaction the first link where I let the mouse rest for 3 seconds or so.
Is there a way to turn this behavior off, by settings, via extension?
Many thanks for any advice!

@sejtn656b8bfd There is not even a setting to turn it on. No idea about extensions.
To be honest, I don't remember even have seen it happening.
Did you try disabling javascript for the page?

@sejtn656b8bfd Could you provide a link to a site that exhibits this behaviour ? I have not noticed this except for scammer websites.
