The delay between opening new tab and clearing it's address bar by the browser is long enough to let user enter URL or click on Speed Dial. When you manage to do so Opera terminates loading page. This is very apparent on slower computers but not only there.

At least here, there is nothing in address bar to be cleared when a new tab is opened. Also the page (start page) loads kinda fast.

@leocg I recorder the video on clean profile in Opera with no extensions. The only change sin settings: dark skin and default search engine to DuckDuckGo (not sure if this is may be a factor). Then I press ctrl+T to open new tabs and enter random characters with quick press enter afterwards.

Most of the time it catches just fine, but the issue you can observe at the very begining of the video, when 'qwe' sequence was on the input, and around 28 second when 'ik' characters disappear.

I suspect the problem arises when history and autocompletion database grows up. But there is definitely something undergoing.

I'm having this same issue. Have you managed to find a solution?
