Can't install Opera on new Galaxy S6 Lite Tablet

I have been using opera for many (many!) years with no problems whatsoever on various versions of Windows PC, and most recently on Win 7 and Win 10, as well as Amazon Fire tablet. My Fire tablet is in the process of giving up the ghost, so I purchased a new Galaxy S6 Lite Tablet to replace it. I hate everything about this, as it is totally user unfriendly and you apparently have to use Google Play for anything and everything you do.
I downloaded the Opera install for Android and was able to download the install executable. However, when I double click (tap) on the OperaSetup.exe, I get an error "Search in the Play Store? You don't have any apps that can open this type of file. You can search for one in the Play Store."
Unfortunately, it doesn't say what app I would need and it just dumps you into the store with no guidance on what to look for. It is a simple exe file anyway. No other system I have ever worked on had proiblems running an install executable.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Try the right file? Any *.exe file is a Windows program, not an Android program. Go to the Play Store and get the latest version from there (Stable will be Opera 61, there is also Opera Beta)
You can download the apk file from Opera's servers, but the default configuration is set up to not install packages from unknown sources, so you're better off just searching for "Opera browser" in the Play Store.
