all of a sudden I am getting ads on several sites. Gatewaypundit.com, theepochtimes.com. is there somewhere I should report this formally?
that said, I love Opera. -

I just noticed large intrusive ads appearing when they did not used to. I even have "acceptable" ads turned off. I went to the same web site using the Brave browser and no ads appeared. I thought Opera was supposed to block ads. It used to work. did something recently change?

I has the same issue on Opera One(version: 99.0.4780.0). on one website (marktplaats.nl) the option to turn on add blocking is even greyed out. Add blocking on YouTube is working now, but has been intermittently working lately.

Does anyone know how ads sneak through on speedtest.net
It used to be clean, but this season it has started to show ads.
By the way, the search box in opera://settings/adBlockerExceptions does not work.
Typing any text does not change result list.
Opera 99.0.4788.77 on Win10. Ad block active, no exception for Speedtest site.

It works sometimes, but if you view an amazon link it will keep pushing it on your blank screen. I installed adblock plus and use a txt file the same thing as FF which removes annoyances in fact I get less ads on opera compared to FF clearly the adblock companies are in cahoots with the browser companies getting paid like selfish dogs. They should be destroyed.

@end3rguy Which also sends you targeted ads, its the ad filter people not the software opera if you view an amazon link (I don't and will never use amazon) it will put it on your blank start page even if you just viewed it thinking you will buy crap. These are filthy dogs who think they can make money off you.

@vegelund Its not sneaking through they are being paid dogs and doing it on purpose. Fanboys list for example they are scum bags pretending to block ads but you still get them on google and bing they are sell outs who will die in a car accident.

The Adblocker is no longer working for YouTube since version 100.0.4815.47.
No ads are shown when using version 100.0.4815.30.

I wonder if Opera is purposefully trying to lose users here... now we get ads from YT? I updated to see if they managed to fix the tab loss and the rest of the list they got wrong with 100, instead I got YT ads... amazing.

In addition to adding a worse interface with tiny tabs that are difficult to click now if you try to use a magnet link opera crashes and you have to open it again.

the ad blocker keeps letting ads through on spotify
when an ad has got through there is no sound but once the ad is finished the ad stays there and when i select a new song it restarts the ad

It’s been three versions the ad blocker in Opera One is not working. The versions were 100.0.4815.47, 100.0.4815.54 and 100.0.4815.76. I turned on the ad blocker and block tracker also turned off the acceptable ad. After that the ads are showing in as shown in the attachment. It’s really irratating to watch with ads. Please fix the ad blocker. I am using the Opera One version 100.0.4815.30, because the ad blocker of this version is working. Also it’s my sixth time for complaining for ad blocker issue. But the problem was not fixed.

I've got the same bug here, and opened a bug report in their official issue tracker
But the issue was marked as "done" without any explanation:
https://opera.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/9/BS-63693
This sound a lot like ad companies paying Opera to not block some ads. It would explain why we can't change the search bar in Speed Dial to the engine we set as default
If this doesn't get solved by the time I get back from my holidays, I guess I'll have two options: using another browser or turning off the built-in ad blocker and installing AdGuard on Opera
