It's OK just can't get used to the new workspaces. Sidebar was cleaner looking before the update. Please include the option to disable workspaces. Or at least an option to hide this blue workspace icon. It is somehow distracting me
Have a nice day -

@aleszajc Click the meatball menu (3 horizontal dots) at the bottom of the sidebar. There you will be able to disable workspaces.

@burnout426 how stupid of me. I was using right click on the side bar but I was unable to diable the workspae1. Thank you very much for that you deserve a beer.

It is really a good idea, very innovative and such, but I think you should put another color to indicate which of the workspaces is the one selected, since the light blue contrasts a lot (at least in night mode), thanks for your attention.

Yeah, I guess the idea there is that tabs are always part of some workspace and workspace 1 is the default workspace that we're all used to. If workspaces are set to show (enabled), then you gotta show the default one (workspace 1). That's my guess on Opera's thinking.

@Opera-Comments-Bot I was just thinking how great it would be if we could have separate sessions per work space. I would love to have different sessions for work and home.

can you add allow/block button to 'opera://settings/siteData' page? there is so many website. if u add allow/block button, i can add allowed website (opera://settings/content/cookies) much faster.

Lol, the comments down there. The workspaces are simply great, but you just can't please everybody.

Hotkey for switching workspaces would be nice
Check your Keyboard Shortcut options. Workspace-switching options are in there.

I have been using opera developer, and I loved this feature when it came out. I wanted to recommend being able to add more workspace, but i did not know how to. well it's already added which is great. Now I want to recommend for each workspace to get its own separate history that would be a great update. I love your innovation.

@stanislavstratil: Tab stacking and workspaces are totally different things. If you want to make a comparisons, Workspaces are more similar to sessions than anything

I really like the introduction of "workspaces". And I will be extremely happy if the workspaces can be synchronized across my devices!
-
ghirahim last edited by
I just noticed that the synchronization page is different and everything is turned off by default. If I turn something on, it switches back when I close the synchronization page. What is going on?

Well, I dont really need neither of them, but... from my perspective, they are doing the same thing.
You are creating a group of websites in both. Tab stacking is faster, cause you can just drag and drop and create a group of tabs, and with workspaces you have to right click on tabs and sent it to new workspace... again, to create a group of tabs. So, whats the difference here? They are the same to me.Anyway, my point is, that tab stacking is already implemented in chromium, and the fact that it didnt show up in Opera, and instead we got workspaces, could be related. So, maybe Im wrong but I think they just reworked this feature.

Why I always see this page https://www.opera.com/client/upgraded when Opera is starting? It is really annoyng.

(1) delete cookies and cache completely - including deleting leftovers manually in the profile folder
(2) if this does not lead to the target, use a new profile (backup the necessary Opera data before - and delete old profile) -

Workspaces are very cool. What about different speed dial for different workspaces?
