@acdc What do you mean by won't close? Opera doesn't close at all? It closes but keeping running in background?

CCleaner says that for it to clean, Opera needs to close, even though I have closed it. Gives me the option of force closing it, but that takes hours (waiting for 1.5 hours to no avail) Looks like Opera keeps running in the background.

Before you use CCleaner, look in Windows Task Manager after you've "closed" Opera to see if an Opera task is still running. If so, force-close it via Task Manager and reopen Opera; then try disabling Opera's extensions to see if one of them is failing to close, as shown in Task Manager. If/when Opera's tasks are all closed as seen in Task Manager, then try running CCleaner to see what happens.

No Opera extensions, etc are running as per task manager. Cant even uninstall as it is "still running".

@acdc In Windows Task Manager, can you identify the Opera processes that are still running after you close Opera? If so, then manually right-click each one in Task Manager to "End Task". That should kill the processes so you can at least uninstall.
