[Solved]Creating A Clean Opera Profile
-

The new Opera Stable has fixed the issue because I have signed into Gmail, signed out, and closed and re-opened the window multiple times to test it and the pop-up is no longer displayed.
To clarify one point though: When the original Opera Stable profile folder was renamed Opera Browser, Opera re-created the Opera Stable profile folder and started using it, making Opera Browser unnecessary.
You had mentioned that deleting Opera Browser would delete the bookmarks, saved passwords, and homepage data.
Since Opera Browser is unnecessary, would keeping it keep my settings intact or would my settings still have to be restored because the Opera Stable profile folder automatically becomes the default even if an old profile folder is still listed, so I was rght to delete Opera Browser?

I have always signed into the Opera Forum using Firefox but I received a message 'New sign-in to your Opera account'-
-
I just signed into Gmail, using Opera, and the pop-up displayed again.
Does this have to do with creating a new Opera profile? If so, how can this email notification setting be turned off so that I do not receive an email notification every time I sign in?

I cannot modify my previous message so please answer this one instead.
Q1. Since the Opera Browser profile is now inactive, would keeping it cause any negative issues?
Q2. Regardless of whether I keep the Opera Browser profile, would my browser settings still have to be restored because Opera Stable profile is now active?
Q3. I have always signed into the Opera Forum using Firefox but I received a message 'New sign-in to your Opera account.'
Does this have to do with the new Opera profile that was created? If so, how can this email notification setting be turned off so that I do not receive one every time I sign in?

No, it will 'not' cause any issues?
-
I am being unclear: Regardless of whether I keep the old inactive Opera Browser profile, would my browser settings still have to be re-customized because Opera Stable is the new active profile?
-
I have always used Firefox to sign into the Opera forum but never received a 'New sign-in to your Opera account email notification until the new profile was created.
Does a Opera browser setting needs to be changed in order to turn this notification off?'

I changed the appropriate setting.

Sorry, not was missing. Fixed it now.

Yes, you will need to re-customized. If you had Sync enabled before, just login to it to get part of your old settings back
-
I never got such e-mail message. Usually those messages are sent when you login from a different browser or computer or IP address.
Nope, it has nothing to do with any setting in a browser.

Thanks again for all the info.
-
Since the old inactive Opera Browser profile does not need to be kept and should be deleted, is there ever a situation where it should be kept?
-
How do I access the 'My Profile' page that has email notifications on it? I cannot recall if it is a browser setting or a forum setting.

To be clear, I am not referring to the 'My Profile' that has personal info on it.
I am referring to the one that allowed me to turn off 'New sign-in to your Opera account' email notifications by sliding the blue dot.
Maybe it is only available through the link at the bottom of the email?

@sporty78 I don't remember have seen it before. However I think you are referring to the one at https://auth.opera.com/account/edit-profile

Yes! That is the link.
Q1. How do I navigate to it though?
Q2. The link opens in a new window-How do I sign out of the page?
Q3. When I clear ‘Browsing Data,’ it shows ‘Today Wed Sept 18 2019’ with the accurate time even though I am in the Pacific Time Zone and today is Thurs Sept 19 2019Can the date setting be changed? Opera certainly has several glitches.

By going to Opera's sign-in page
-
Clicking on the icon with the arrow pointing right at the top right
-
In History page? If so, then see https://forums.opera.com/topic/33231/history-date-is-incorrect

You lost me-The forum sign-in page takes me to the forum page; When I am at the forum sign-in page, am I supposed to click 'Opera Auth,' sign in, and then the 'Edit Profile' page is displayed?
-
Oh okay-I cannot hover over it and there is no drop-down box so I had no idea what the icon represented-Resolved
-
My computer date is correct but that thread is unresolved and a bug has been confirmed.
