Lost speed dials after update

Can someone please help I have lost over 300 speed dials after opera had updated today. When I opened it everything was gone and the settings had reverted to what they were when you first install it, wallpapers and all. Is there a way to restore the data from yesterday? I can't see them on the sync thing either.

If it looks like Opera was installed new then you are probably using a different profile folder. So, look around for your old one.

Hello where should I look for this profile folder? I have no new icons on the desktop and no new files in the documents section. My pc knowledge is very limited. I have tried enabling the speed dials as they were set on hidden but I can still only see the ones you get when you install opera.
