FVD Speed Dial - New Tab Page

Trying my best to move from Firefox back to Opera, won't do it if FVD Speed dial won't work, I truly dislike the Opera default speed dial. I have everything setup, but when I open a new tab, no speed dial shows up. I have tried it with the crappy Opera speed dial turned off and also on. No clue what I a missing.

Go Brave Browser is the same, there, extensions like FVD Speed Dial works fine !

@1breton: If I remember correctly, you have to create an account with eversync which backups and restores speed dials. And syncs all of Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera. Eversync couples together the FVD speed dial. You use to be able to create a Free account with Eversync, not sure what it is now. Hope this helps you, but definately check out the Eversync, without it you will not be able to transfer back and forth the speed dials.

The most frustrating part of this story is Opera's behaviour, with no contact intervention following the subject.
In 2020 we are offered forums that their owners are not even able to know the basis of a forum which is discussion and exchange, what is the point of looking for a community and letting it express itself if it is to be ignored?

@granddaddyopera: I read your "Simply install this and set FVD Speed Dial as your New Tab option during setup", installed extension, but have absolutely no idea, how to "set FVD Speed Dial as your New Tab option". Nothing was offered during setup!

Just about to leave a really awesome review and now all my bookmarks have disappeared from all the groups I created. Even the restore from the backup does nothing. Brilliant.

Ok I guess no one is listening. So just to be clear...using Opera...I've lost ALL my group entries and I'm uninstalling this piece of crap.

I just migrated from Chrome to Opera, and with the help of the "Install Chrome Extensions" extension was able to install FVD Speed Dial and then imported my previously exported data. With the Chrome extension "New Tab Start Page" I was able to get it to function as my start page as well as my new tab page. The procedure was a bit complicated, but was worth it and works well.

Homepage works fine, new tab does not, anyone have instructions on how to force this to open on a new tab?

It doesn't work in Opera GX. Well it appeares only after direct click on the extension's icon, but it doesn't replace default page when I open a new tab
