I am finding it impossible to enable the Opera Ad Blocker.
On the page:
https://help.opera.com/en/opera36/be-safe-and-private/
it says:
"To block ads: Go to Settings. Click Privacy & security in the sidebar.
Under Block ads, tick the Block ads and surf the web up to three times faster checkbox."
But in the "Privacy & security" section of my Opera browser, there is nothing about an ad blocker !On the page:
https://addons.opera.com/en-gb/extensions/details/opera-ad-blocker/
there is a green button "Enable in Opera", but nothing happens when I click it.My Opera "About" page says:
Version: 36.0.2130.80 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows XP 32-bitPlease can anyone explain this, and what to do about it ?
Many thanks for your help,
Frank. -

Hi sgunhouse and leocg, thanks for your replies.
The top right little gear symbol only offers "Customise start page".
The "Settings" page has nothing about it, and it's search box gives no results for "blocker" or "adblocker".Was the adblocker only available on later versions of Opera ?

I just checked Opera 36. I don't see an adblocker in it anywhere. I even turned on advanced settings and entered the Konami code for power user settings. I see nothing in
opera://flags
either. I guess the adblocker came some time later.I was able to install https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/ublock/ in Opera 36 though. It gave no warnings on install, but I didn't test how will it worked in 36.

Hi burnout426,
Thanks for your reply. I have now installed Ublock and I will see how it goes.
