@talonfigo The site may know that you are using a VPN and are blocking it. It also could be that the VPN is using a IP address from other country.

Or maybe the site is just guessing your location wrongly.

The VPN location is a region and not a country - it may be in Canada when you select "America". But more likely they recognize it as a VPN as Leo said.
