Mods: Yes, I searched. On "tab close button". Please don't close this as a duplicate or simply ignore it just because YOU think you've seen it a thousand times before. Suggest a better search.
Isn't it a sad state of affairs that one has to start a message this way?
I've recently updated to Opera 22 on the Mac. I regularly also use Safari and Chrome. On those, when you have 10 or so tabs open...
- Safari shows the names, no icon, and the close button appears on the far left when your cursor touches the tab.
- Chrome shows the icon on the far left, the name in the middle, and always (at least as I have it configured) shows the close button on the far right.
So what does Opera do? It shows the icon on the left, the name in the middle, and if you click on the visually-anchoring icon, it closes the tab.
Hey, I can't make this stuff up. Click on the tab-icon and the tab is closed. Seriously.
I assume there's an easy way to configure this, to move the close button to the right, but I don't see it.
Yes, I did a search (as above.) I also used the search on Preferences... which brought up "Search Engines" and "Pressing Tab on a webpage highlights all links, as well as form fields".
How can I separate the page icon from the close button? Thanks.
