Import bookmarks Firefox -> Opera (plus some other issues)

  • Hi,
I decided to switch from Firefox to Opera, but I have some serious problem with Opera browser.

    1. I cannot import bookmarks. Bookmark import is greyed out.
How can I import bookmark from firefox ?

    2. I don't like speed dial (or how is it called) instead of homepage. I download homepage button extension but Im not able to move extension icon from right side of the toolbar to place where is speed dial.
How can I move extension to chosen place ? Or just delete dial up icon.

    Thanks

    1. This tool is for importing old Opera Presto bookmarks only.

    2. Toolbar is not customizable. Neither is possible to change the position of the extensions icons.

  • If you install Opera 12.17 (Presto), you can install the Firefox bookmarks into that browser. Then you could try the Bookmark Importer Feature. I believe the way to proceed would be to uninstall Opera 21 completely. Then Install Opera 12.17, per the discussion by leocg at the end of this thread.

After you have imported Firefox bookmarks into Opera 12.17, install Opera 21 (Blink), and see if the Bookmarks Importer then works.

You can, in Opera 21, have your own homepage, not the Speed Dial if you choose. The ability to do that is in Settings (Alt. P), and then choose how you want to operate on Start up.

And you can, with the Opera extension, "Custom New Page," set your new tabs at something other than the Speed Dial, if you choose.
