Nuance with notifications in Win 10.

Hello! I really like the fact that Opera uses Win 10 notifications. But there is a moment that spoils my impressions. When I listen to Google Music through Chrome, there is no sound from the notification when the track is changed. In Opera, when you change the track there is a system sound notification.

I can confirm. When the notification comes from Opera, there's a sound. Specifically, the sound is the "Windows Notify System Generic.wav" sound. In Chrome, there's no sound.
For others wanting to test, at https://play.google.com/music/, you need to click the hamburger menu on the page, goto settings and enable desktop notifications under the "Labs" section. Then, next time you play something, you'll get asked to allow notifications. Do so and then play and change tracks to get the Windows notifications. Test in both Chrome and Opera.

There is a bug report with these exact details (from his first post), it is DNAWIZ-12696. However, the email address is different from the one listed for your forum account. Created March 4th of 2017? Also was reported from an Apple Macintosh, not a Windows PC. Is that you?

@milder Do you know the bug number or do you remember what you put in the "Problem summary" field when you reported it? Can you send me the email addressed (in a chat) that you used to report the bug?

Sorry. What built-in connectivity with support? "Menu -> Help -> Report an Issue" that takes you to https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/ and then https://bugs.opera.com/wizard/desktop where you report a bug?
If so, I can't find your bug. No reports made with your email address. You should have gotten an email address for the bug that contains the bug number.

My friends, in the latest stable 57.0.3098.76 Opera does not use Windows system notifications. What's happening? I hope this is temporary?

They're still working for me in 57.0.3098.76. And, I'm now not getting the sound when a notification pops up.
Maybe you can remove play.google.com from
opera://settings/content/notifications
, gotoopera://settings/siteData
, search for google.com, remove all shown, and then go back to play.google.com/music/, log in, try to play something and accept the request to allow notifications again. If you get them to work again, please report back on whether you still hear the sound or if that's been fixed now.

@burnout426 I reinstalled Opera today. There are no system notifications at all, only embedded in the browser.

Ah, yes. Confirmed. I was just seeing notifications for the framed page at the bottom, not the real system notifications. I tried masking as Chrome to see if it was just a browser detection issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case. They're indeed not working. I'll try to investigate more later.

I asked around. Due to some changes in Chromium, Opera has to fix a few things with notifications. The issue with the sound is a known issue too. For now, we'll just have to be patient.
