Searching for the latest driver for the 1070, I get https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/139606/en-us, which is 416.81. Can you try that one just to see if there's any difference?

I'm testing on a Win10 x64 laptop with an Intel n4200 that has an HD 505 GPU and can confirm the issue,

As in, it works fine in the last Windows build before which is 56.0.3051.31?

The issue is still in that build too. I'm going to keep trying previous builds to see if I can find out when the issue started exactly. However, with Opera Developer build 58.0.3134.0, I can't reproduce the problem. So, maybe the issue is already fixed.

I can also confirm that the issue doesn't affect Chrome, Chromium and Vivaldi.

Issue still present following Opera 56.0.3051.99 update on my Win 8, 64 Bit using Intel built in graphics.

Solution still the same: Turn off hardware acceleration.

@xpvb48 Can you try v58 to see what results you get there?

I was looking through opera://flags and noticed this one:

                chrome://flags/#tint-gl-composited-content

Normally disabled, but I wonder if it is related? Is the color you're seeing reddish?

                  No. It's gray or blue.

Anything's possible, but doesn't seem related atm.

I can confirm that https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/changelog-for-56/#b3003.0 is the very first build that has the problem. Looking at the changelog, the only one that stands out is "DNA-70601 Input elements lost Opera style". Opera 58 still seems to not have the issue.

Actually, that might not have anything to do with the issue.

Small update. It looks like the issue started when Opera updated to Chromium 69.0.3452.0 and it was fixed in Opera (in Opera 58) when Opera updated to Chromium 71.0.3573.0. So far, it looks like a change in Chromium affected something in Opera only. Just not sure what change in Chromium was the culprit and why it only affect Opera.

@burnout426 It's still weird Opera was unable to find this out for entire version 56. And it'll apparently be around till Opera 58 comes out far in the future. A bit annoying.

@rejzor Yeah, it's weird. The change that fixes the issue should be in https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/71.0.3569.0..71.0.3573.0?pretty=fuller&n=10000. Maybe someone can narrow it down.

Is this ever going to get fixed? Where are the boffins at Opera? Seems like I've had about 8 updates since the problem started including the one today and still the problem persists 👎🏻

When Opera 58 reaches stable channel almost for sure. Maybe earlier if they can backport the fix to Opera 57.

Under Settings:Browser:Advanced:System: 'Use hardware acceleration when available'

This was ON, changing to OFF and tapping 'Relaunch' button seems to have cleared the issue.

@marius-ss Turning off HW acceleration is not a fix. You're literally removing a functionality on entire browser level for something broken on one page. That's like cutting an arm off because of an infection instead of just consuming some antibiotics...

                                          Hello,
Lately I noticed problem with Opera browser. On some pages I get graphic artifacts. For example on reddit comment field changes colors to different gray shades, then even change as I resize comment field. Also text typed in comment field on reddit have blue background. Problem is I'm not even sure if it's a problem with Opera or GPU or drivers. So here's how it looks:
Problem exists on RTX2070 I currently own (I even got first one replaced, because I thought those artifacts are a result of hardware failure), all available drivers for RTX cards (from 416.34 to 417.22), after reinstalling system, reinstalling drivers with DDU.
Problem don't exist on other browsers (Vivaldi, Chrome, Firefox), problem also don't exist on Opera when I use my old card (GTX560) with drivers 391.35 and older (391.35 is newest I can install for GTX560).
I can't confirm if it's driver problem as I can't install newest drivers for old GPU (and I don't have any problems there), I can't also install old drivers for current GPU. Furthermore problem is not existing on other browser, but at the other hand it didn't occur on Opera on first run (appeared after few hours on both new and old card).
So it may be that I'm very unlucky and somehow both my RTX cards started to die, but thing is problem occurs ONLY on Opera. No other browser, no benchmark or game causes any problems.

It is a known issue with certain graphics cards, and should be fixed whenever Opera 58 goes stable.
