Youtube high CPU usage problem

as title says chrome and opera after youtube started to use html5 style and vp9 codec, videos opens in the opera page started to use higher cpu than it should be. Same video with same codecs at 1080p@60fps uses %95 for opera&chrome//%35 for firefox and of course cannot even be able to open 4k with opera because of lags&frame drops. That's common problem as far as i saw, and as firefox solved that will be solved (they have open source code just check the codes and tweaks). Well will be very appreciated if this can be solved.

forse potrebbe esserci un conflitto tra il tuo codec vp9 e il browser. Per quanto riguarda i video 4k si deve avere un computer abbastanza potente. meglio un QuadCore o di più. HTML5 per youtube e su tutto è sempre da preferire

@d2339904 Is hardware Acceleration currently turned on or off if it's turned off then everything is being done via software and the CPU which would cause higher than normal CPU usage so you need to turn hardware acceleration on so that the GPU does all of the Video decoding

Most of hardware was only capable of decoding h264 and VP8 codecs..., Youtube and other web sites are using H265 and and VP9 codecs, that makes puts all the work on your CPU. There's an extension that forces Youtube to use H264 video versions called h264fy https://github.com/erkserkserks/h264ify
